IVF success rates must be reported to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in accordance with the "Fertility Clinic Success Rate and Certification Act of 1992". IVF success (delivery rates) for DFW Fertility Associates for 2006 and onwards will be reported based on the physician Practice (individual or group practices) as is recommended by the Society for Assisted Reproduction (SART).
The IVF success rates for DFW Fertility Associates prior to 2006 were reported to the CDC within the Presbyterian-Harris Methodist Hospital ARTS Program, which includes several other IVF programs. The latest IVF success rate data available for the Presbyterian-Harris ARTS Program reported by the CDC are for the year 2005.
Because delivery data is reported, 2006 statistics can’t be calculated until all patients from 2006 that conceived with IVF have delivered. Hence, the 2006 data becomes available sometime during the first quarter of 2008. IVF success rates are influenced by many factors making it difficult to compare individual clinics.
For example, if a clinic has a higher percentage of younger women undergoing IVF their IVF success rates will likely be higher. We treat a wide variety of women and all age groups are represented. Even so, our cumulative rates greatly exceed the national average.
